    Question capture cut command...

I was wondering if it is possible to capture the cut command which IE uses?

I have written key capture commands which stop CTRL+X - but when the user highlights text in an iFrame then selects

    Edit > Cut

from the IE menu - it still allows the cut.

Is there any way to stop this??

    Thanks

Can you tell us the reason behind it? It goes against user's freedom. If you really want to prevent it, then just prevent the highlighting of text. That is still not recommended though.

    sure...

basically I have markers inside a text box (well, iFrame) and when the user highlights text inside this and presses any key which would result in removing the marker, it shows an error.

These markers are simply string such as {firstname} and it the user tries to cut, paste or remove it - it wont allow it.

so.... I have covered every possibility of removing it apart from the cut and paste command which IE offers....

they can still cut normal text... just not if their selection contains a marker...
