    Slides Show - How To Skip or Go To?

    I have HTML Slide Show script that works fine, the only problem
    is that I have too many slides. How can I start the slide show at any specify index. Let say I have already 90 slides (images) then
    add 10 later. Anyone have the script that allow view to specify
    index, like if I specify 90, the slide show would start at slide 90?

    Thx

    depends on the slide show really, but presumably it has a counter set that to 90 or 89 and it should start at picture 90, this is just a guess seing as u did not post any code.

    var num=90;

    Just make sure index 90 exists.
    About the other problem, you should preload the images. Find the script at google.

    Hello glenngv, if I hard code it "var num=90;" then
    it always use that number for index and that not good
    because I want viewer to select any starting point.
    Perhaps I should find a code for a button allow viewer
    skip number of next slides. I.e, I would have 2 buttons
    allow them to skip ahead 5 slides, and other button to
    skip 10 slides. If you have the code for that already, please show me. In mean time, I'll search the forum for the code - Thx

    1. if you want users to be able to store a starting point in ur slideshow you need to use either cookies(user can dissable these) or a server side storage.

    2. instead of having 5 diffenrent jump buttons use a drop down box 1 item for each picture, this way a user can jump to where he wants

    Hello Garadon
    Thx for the good idea of using drop down box.
    My problem now is redirect. I have 2 frames Body1
    and Body2, the drop down is in Body1. How could
    I redirect the Selected html go to Body2. I have
    add code Target="Body2" into many different

    Do all the option items redirect to "Body2"?
    Code:
    <html>
    <head>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function Navigate(sel) {
      var number = sel.selectedIndex;
      if (number>0){
        window.open(sel.options[number].value, "Body2");
      }
    }
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <form>
    ...
    <select name="NavSelect" onChange="Navigate(this)">
    <option value="" selected>Click to Select</option>
    <option value="/HTML/Andrew/2004/sl_AndrewMisc2004_04.html">Oct-Dec</option>
    <option value="/HTML/Andrew/2004/sl_AndrewMisc2004_03.html">Jul-Sep</option>
    <option value="/HTML/Andrew/2004/sl_AndrewMisc2004_02.html">Apr-Jun</option>
    <option value="/HTML/Andrew/2004/sl_AndrewMisc2004_01.html">Jan-Mar</option>
    <option value="/HTML/Andrew/2004/sl_Andrew1stMonth.html">1st Month</option>
    <option value="/HTML/Andrew/2004/sl_Andrew1stWeek.html">1st Week</option>
    <option value="/HTML/Andrew/2004/sl_AndrewDDay.html">"D" Day</option>
    </select>
    ...
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    Be sure to surround the fields with <form></form> tags as stricter browsers will not display the controls not contained inside a form.
