Button to mute a web page

    Hey everyone,
i am trying to mute completely my webpage.
I am gonna explain to you guys the situation: i have a background music, made with the embed and autoplay of a youtube video. But i did hide this video, putting width and height to 0.
So i want to make a button that can mute the whole webpage, or at least this youtube video.
    How can i do that?

    Thanks!

I would have the button UNMUTE the sound (that is play your music) and a button to play your video. It's so annoying going to a site and having that running.
Someone will help if you link to your website so we can see the code.

Honestly i like the default autoplay sound and the option to mute it.
Anyways this is my website, it's a simple HTML.

i like the default autoplay sound and the option to mute it.
So if the website is only for you why are you even asking the question?

I meant that my page is just HTML5, not that big deal actually.
The website isn't only for me, but i am the designer and i would like to put a mute button, not a 'play music' button.
    That's why i asked help

So it doesn't bother you that people WILL close the page if the 'music' autoplays on opening?

People "surf" at work with speakers,

People have their own music playing,

YOUR choice of "background" music is NOT every one's.

Autoplay 'music' is annoying and instrusive to others.

I appreciate your concern and i am not even saying that you are wrong.
But the purpose of the website is to make you travel as i did. And that song is important.
If you don't want to help me fixing my problem in creating a 'mute' button, well thanks anyways
