    So what does a database query give you for that same field in that same record? That is, when you use a DB tool, what does it show you?

    It immediately returns a zero when I save the page and when I search the record it just shows a zero as well no matter what combination of digits I input.

    Second thought,

    Can I just make it where customers only type in digits to the text field and the PHP converts the display on the 'echo' command?
