Exclamation calling information from external site

so i am relatively new to writing java and have an issue. i am trying to compose a table that outputs real-time data pulled from an external site. the site i am pulling from has a table in the format of 7x9 (down x across). i need to write code that will call information from box 3x8, for example, but am having trouble getting the information to actually display. any suggestions?

If you mean JavaScript then there are only two ways to access an external site without requiring server side code on your own site.

    1. If the data on the external site is available as JSONP - http://javascriptexample.net/ajax07.php
    2. If the site has a cross domain policy set that allows access and the browser supports the second version of XMLHTTPRequest then it can be accessed that way (which means it will only work for some visitors).

The only thing they could mean by real time data is whatever data the external site is currently making available to be retrieved which may or may not be the same as was available two minutes ago or in one minutes time.

im trying to figure out if it's an embeded widget or part of the html. if it's an embed, you might be able to inspect your way to the source of the data, and it might be jsonp. or it might be locked down completely and not something you're supposed to be able to hijack...
