There has to be a way to do this.

Hi, I need some help either finding a tutorial on this or if someone knows a fairly simple line of code that will work..then awesome.

So a little background, I've been brought in with this company to work on all internal sites as the team of developers here don't have time to work on internal sites as they're always busy with client related work. My boss is fully aware that I'm not a javascript wizard but know enough to at least identify what line of code does what and plug it in where applicable.

So, I told you that to tell you this. On the main company website we're implementing a fairly simple grid system on slider pages to show client case studies. It's basically 3 pages of slides right now and about 24 square thumbnails on each slide that "onclick" present client case study data in a designated area for text to show up.

What my boss has in mind for it to eventually do is be able to "select one or more thumbnails of client case studies, and be able to print a PDF document with the selected case studies (in a more details form than a 120x120px thumbnail).

There has to be a way to do this, I just can't find any tutorials that even suggest an idea on how to do it.

    Thanks for any help.

    ANOTHER UPDATE:

Just talked to a friend who's an App developer and he told me Javascript may not be the best way to do this. RoR may be a better option.. Can anyone confirm this?

there are several pdf creators in JS, many more in other languages as well. they are all a PITA to use, reminding me much of early DOM code before jQuery came along.

if i were you, i would first get the other parts working: select more than one thumbnail and download a bundled HTML version of all the pages needed. once that works, use a tool to turn the html into a pdf with as little customization as you can get away with.
