    See forum rule #1.5. We will not do your homework for you.

    Also please see the forum guidelines regarding silly thread titles.

    All the code given in this post has been tested and is intended to address the question asked.
    Unless stated otherwise it is not just a demonstration.

    This forum is not a free coding service. As a general rule, the people helping out in this forum don't write code for others (especially code that appears to be for homework), but try to help with fixing code that doesn't work. You'll be far more likely to get help if you have made a substantial effort and written some code yourself. Then someone here will almost certainly help you correct/improve your work.

    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>

    <body>

    <input type="number" id="userNumber">
    <input type="button" id="doFunction" value="Submit Number">

    <script>
    var number=document.getElementById('userNumber');

    var button=document.getElementById('doFunction');
    var textNumber;

    button.onclick=function(){

    	for(var i=0; i < number.value; i++){
    		textNumber=document.createTextNode(i+1);
    		document.body.appendChild(textNumber);
    	}

    Sure, and it is quite certain the code that pdiddles03 has devised will not be believed by the teacher as being her own work!

    From my own personal experience, school never taught me squat. I still attend college, and it's garbage. All of my knowledge came from self study and other peoples code.

    LOL! Sure they did, Philip! He *SAYS* that he learned from other people's code.

    Oh, excuse me. "other peoples code."

    <grin/>

    A pessimist sees the glass as half empty.
    A realist drinks it no matter how much there is.

    Presumably he learned from the code of more than one person, so "other peoples' code".

    The importance of the apostrophe can be illustrated by

    Those weird-looking things over there are the moderators.
    Sorry I'll type that again.
    Those weird-looking things over there are the moderators'.

    Same with capitals. At the risk of an infraction:-

    "I helped my uncle Jack off a horse"
    vs
    "I helped my uncle jack off a horse"

    Or a comma:-

    "Let's eat, Grandma!"
    vs
    "Let's eat Grandma!".
