Page Exporter Utility - InDesign

    Hi,

I am having difficulty with a script I have inherited which creates single pdf pages from a multi page InDesign document.

Being a very novice scripter I wonder if someone could help me with the script?

If yes, how do I attached the script??

    Thanks,
    Bill

Have you debugged the script, do you know where its going on? And its a JS script that converts InDesign to PDF? That sounds unlikely...

I haven't debugged it as it works fine but I need to change parts of it to make it more appropriate for the job I need it for.

It is a jsx file which converts and renames multi page InDesign documents to single page pdf's.

Are you able to take a look?

Ok, so if it works, what are you posting about?

You're not going to get help writing new code here, at least not for free. We'll be glad to assist in addressing specific issues you run into, or advice on how to address issues, but if you need someone to modify your code so you can do some particular task, there's a web projects forum group near the bottom of the list where you can hire someone.

Ok, though I don't know why you are getting all agitated, ever heard of Open Source??

Thought a friendly scripter would maybe able to help me out, don't know what's wrong with some folk, pity.

Its not agitated, its telling you how this forum works. This isn't an open source, write code, forum. This is a forum to help people with the code they already have, or to help them get to their own code.

But all in all, so far you haven't said anything about what you want. That would help.

    Ok, fair enough.

I have the code but I can't figure out how to change it so it will perform a function I need, I don't need new code writing just the code I have amending as my brain is too small to figure it out!

I don't know how to show the code I have so someone can take a look? Can I just paste it into this window?

As Kaleth has tried to explain, this forum is not a free coding service. As a general rule, the people helping out in this forum don't write code for others, but try to help with fixing code that doesn't work. That is not the same as changing commercial code to perform some new function.

All the code given in this post has been tested and is intended to address the question asked.
Unless stated otherwise it is not just a demonstration.

So you want new code. If you want the program to do something its not currently capable of doing, that means it will require writing new code.

But again, what do you need to do?

Yes, you paste the code into this window; but be sure to put it in between

tags so that it is easily distinguishable from regular text. You can also do that by clicking the small ‘#’ button (the one without the ‘i’) or the ‘php’ button above the reply field.
