    @ Philip

This is not about the misspelling of a name, misspelling happens, but about making fun of someone on purpose. I don't recall making fun of you. I criticized the way you work.
The opinion of an experienced developer is worth a lot, yes. But the opinion of a developer whose knowledge and methods are out of date loses value quite rapidly. And that is something that you frequently get into discussions for, too just yesterday when it was about HTML5, for example.

We can have our thoughts. I have mine and I'm sure you have yours. But if you're not going to criticize my work/answers, but rather make fun of my name or attack me personally, I'd ask you to keep them to yourself (besides rule 1.5 that you love to quote there are also a few other ones).

That being said, I will stop participating in this discussion. We're not gonna be buddies and frankly I don't care. If you have something to say about an answer I give, feel free to make an addition or correct me.

    @ Reflo2

You don't need to be sorry for anything. Your typo was not the problem here and my nickname gets misspelled quite frequently.

Perhaps you will explain how criticizing my work and throwing out the insulting word "lazy" differs from attacking me personally. And how making fun of you is different from "sharing my thoughts".

As I said, what you are saying is that you are free to make posts which are dedicated to offending me, but start to scream when the position is reversed.

But I'll offer you a deal - a truce if you like. Stop picking holes in my posts and I will not laugh at your screen name or refer to your short period of membership here. OK?

Any helpful comments you care to make will be very welcome. Disagreeable or snide comments intended to provoke disagreement or antipathy will not. You need to understand that there are many issues on which legitimate differences of opinion may occur. As we often say, there are nearly always several good ways to skin a cat. If you wish to offer a correction or improvement that is fine - so long as you express yourself in a non-confrontational way.

Does telling people not to copy your style of non-indented code count as a "snide comment"? If so, I'll accept your deal if you name any fairly recent, decent Javascript book that recommends this style or at least uses it itself. As an experienced programmer I'm sure you know at least a few books, so if it is not a completely out-dated way of writing code that should not be taught anymore these days, you should be able to give me an example. And I hope you don't understand this as a personal attack again. Believe it or not, teaching something as basic as this is important to me and I will not watch people teaching other people to not indent code*.

If it does not count as a snide comment I'll accept the deal right away.

*) I'm aware that you never explicitly state that they should not indent code. Still, since you're usually filling the teacher role in this forum, what you write is what people will adapt and learn.

Edit: I didn't comment on all the other things because I said I would not discuss this any further. If you really are interested in answers, feel free to send me a private message.

Yes, it does so count. Or it does if you express that in a confrontational way.

Feel free to say something like "Although indentation is not a requirement of most programming languages, these days most people use code indentation which I personally prefer and recommend for improved clarity and readability, but unless you work for a company it is really a matter of personal taste".

I'm glad we came to an agreement then.
