    How to let a textlink determine the src of an embedded media-file?

    Below is an example I found on how to embed a windows media player. My question is: How can I select which file should be played, by clicking a text link (which should be located in a different frame)? Very thankful for any help! /Per, Sweden

    Current code:

    <object id="MediaPlayer" width="600" height="480" classid="CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" type="application/x-oleobject">
    <param name="FileName" value="media.wmv">
    <param name="autostart" value="1">
    <param name="showcontrols" value="0">
    <embed type="application/x-mplayer2"
    src="media.wmv"
    width="600"
    height="480"
    autostart="1"
    showcontrols="1">
    </embed>
    </object>

    That sounds like a JukeBox application. You can Google on "Javascript Jukebox" to bring up literally thousands of pages with example code and even tutorials. Often the trick to finding what you want is simply knowing the right keywords to use in your hunt.

    Go ahead and take a look and if that doesn't help you meet your goal or you find a script that looks likely but have questions about it we'll be here for you.
