    JSE Internal Search Engine

    Hi

    I've been using this great search engine with good results. However some of the pages in my site are their own subfolders and the search engine doesn't seem to work with them. I've put the JS files into their own folder called SCRIPYS and included this in the src=line. I've add ../scripts to the subfolders pages but when activated I get 2 run time error messages 'd' is null or not an object and 'r' is numb or not an object.

    I've tried adding the full URL to the results_location = line in the JSE_Form.js file but to no avail. It does eventually locate the results page but with undefined in the search results field.

    I'm sure I am doing something utterly gormless and would welcome any help or tips with this.

    Thanks George

    Not enough info. We need to see the code to be able to deduce what must be corrected.

    The code has been cut and paste unaltered from the downloaded zip file.

    The HEAD section of the page with the search box contains:

    <script language="JavaScript1.3" type="text/javascript"
    src="jse_form.js"></script>

    The only modification I've made is - src="scripts/jse_form.js" and this works on all other pages.

    The form code is as follows:

    <form name="jse_Form">
    <input type="text" name="d">
    <input type="button" value="Go" onclick="search_form(jse_Form)">
    </form>

    and has not been modified by me.

    The results page HEAD section should includes:

    <script language="JavaScript1.3" type="text/javascript"
    src="jse_search.js"></script>

    and again this has not been modified by me.

    I've faithfully followed the instructions in the doc.txt file which explains how to work with this script.

    Hope this helps.

    George

    Doesn't help one bit - there's no scripts that are known by the general web designer community by their names. Even if I had heard of JSE, I'd not know the source without you either linking it in action, pasting the code in the forums, or linking to the source for the script.

    If you want to get out help, you must give us something to work with. We can't work on nothing.

    apologies - I assumed you realised I was refering to the script found at http://javascriptkit.com/script/scri...e/index.shtml.

    This is also where I found the link to this forum. I assumed javascriptkit was known to forum users. As I am knew to this forum I thought there was some relationship between it and Javascriptkit.

    If you are still able to help me the script and instructions for its use are contained in a small zip file at the above url.

    This is a small client side search engine which works perfectly well. My problem is only with pages which are in their own subfolders.

    I hope this helps.

    George
