    Transfering Files problem

    The problem is this.

I create a pdf document and it is stored in a folder on my webserver, the file name is returned back to the web page.

now I need to prompt the user to download the file from the webserver, can anyone tell me how this is done or point me to some resources ?

any help would be greatly appreciated here.

    Thanks

    Steve.

well, if the user doesn't have Acrobat Reader installed on his/her comp, then if you provide a link to your file, like

    <a href="somewhere.com/myPDFfile.pdf"> Download </a>

and he/she uses your link, he/she will get the book, but if the Acrobat Reader is installed, it'll be opened and show the book, I dunno what to do if the Acrobat Reader is installed, but you still want them to download your book, not to see them online!
