    bypassing password entries

I have a page which submits form information to some software which generates a report from a MySQL database. The problem I am having is that the software requires a username and password to be entered into a pop-up box prompt before it generates the report. Is it possible for javascript to pass a username and password into the boxes as they arise so that a given user does not have to type them in. Security is not an issue in this case, as the name and password are currently mentioned on the original html page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Is it basic-auth protection?

If so, you can use http://username:password@www.whatever.com
