    How to create popup reminders

    Hey:

I have users that schedule phone calls thru the app. I want them to be able to designate how many minutes before the call they should receive a reminder - a popup preferably. The time of the call is stored in a db on the server.

I want to prevent automatic refreshes of the database to check for reminder times - too much traffic. If I can store the time the time they should receive the reminder on their client, is there a way with jscript that I can have their browser continuously monitor that time, then toss up the popup when the time arrives?

Thanks very much for any help.

You would just have to use a server side code to store the variable on the client side.

You would want sort of an alarm clock type of script. You might want to look on google for a count down script.

I think that it might be possible without a server-side application, but with a JS cookie, if user accept that... Well, that cookie can be removed if user decides to clean the Temporary files... so a server-side is the safer, indeed
