    progress bar for loading flash movie

    hi,

    i have a flash movie in my site. it is 1.7mb big so it takes some time to load it. I know that there is a way to make a loading screen (with a progress bar) in flash. but I only have the *.swf file. This means that I CAN NOT edit it. so I thougt maybe there is a way to make a progress bar that show how far the flash movie is loaded in Javascript. Is there such a script???

    Nope.

    You're going to want to get the .fla file and put a preload script in there like: (where loaderpic is the instance of a movie that is the bar that moves across the screen)

    loaded = getBytesLoaded();
    total = getBytesTotal();
    barlength = (loaded/total)*100;
    if (loaded<total) {
    gotoAndPlay ("loop");
    loaderpic._xscale = barlength;
    } else {
    gotoAndPlay ("begin");
    }
