    Question Variables use Syntax(s) in HTML

    I keep reading every javascript reference I can find, and although there is a lot of discussion of how to initialize variables, there is almost nothing on the syntaxes for use (except for how to roll the variable into another, or use with javascript commands.

    Does anyone know where there is a GOOD reference for the usage syntax of variables within HTML code?

    The var(s) I am refering to are simple string ones like:

    var myVar1="Data I want to transfer"
    var myVar2="location of a file"

    <img screen= myVar2 > myvar

    I can usually figure out if I want a variable to operate as a function or if I am adding literal text to a function or just show as a literal string; but how to implement on lines using: [], &'';, !, +var+, or however seems to be inconsistent and driving me nuts (as I can't find a reference!)

    Thanks for any help.
