    making image appear on click...

I'm sure this question has been asked, but I tried searching for this answer using many different keywords, but I don't know the correct terminology for my question, as the search results turn up other topics. I'm wondering if there's simple code for clicking on a thumbnail to have a larger version of the picture appear above, but still within, the same webpage, and the background darkens a little. The larger picture has a "close" button, which you click to get back to the underlying original page. An very simple example of the type I'm looking for is here:

I'm assuming this is a java script that does this. I'm using DreamWeaver. Does Adobe have this type of coding in their "Spry" coding? If not, is there a simple template of the code out there? Thank you for any help.

Correct. This is the reason for you have to learn JavaScript and write your own codes. There are no short cuts when dealing with programming languages.

Or... have you tried to write such a code and you encountered a problem? Post that code, please.

I see. Any place I can buy the code from someone who went through all the trouble of learning and writing the code?

Don't know. When you are ill, you are to see a doctor, right? Hire a professional. Find a freelancer.

Adobe's Spry setup is such a shortcut, is it not?

    lightbox, yea...

(mumbling) .. still: people who use javaScript snippets and library should learn at least the basis of JavaScript language....No offence, brainfillet, please... Believe me, you need a little bit of JavaScript knowledge when you create web pages. It is a must-to-do

Yes it is. Thank you. Very greatly appreciated. I knew something simple like this existed. And to think that a certain mod told me to write my own script! Thanks a lot.

You see? (see also my last post). Should you have learned the JavaScript basis you would know about the "lightboxes"
