    better preloading?

I'm familiar with basic javascript preloading of images, for such things are roll-over effects. Can someone suggest to me a method where i could load all of my graphics for a page before beginning any other function or displaying anything?

well.. i'm flexible, but i have timed image filter effects that look pretty messed if they arent fully loaded when they're displayed.

Would you consider using an intermediary page to load them all? I did a slideshow for a client once with a decent number of large images, and they wanted them all preloaded BEFORE getting to the page that used them. It's an IE-only slideshow, but you can see it here.

I used this script from Dynamic Drive, if I remember correctly
