    onmousewheel

    I have a div which has a functioned attached to it via the onmousewheel event... however, when i use the mouse wheel, over this div, in addition to executing my chosen function, it preforms the standard mouse wheel operation of scrolling the page up or down.

    how can i disable the page scrolling effect when the wheel is used over this layer?

    i like to talk to myself

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. ::begs::

    i have a random problem, and its probably pretty anal of me, but i really wanted to add mouse wheel scrolling ability to this little text box here

    http://www.technosquid.com/externalj...iveformula.htm

    anyway, turns out i'm kinda a klutz at scripting and if something works its a miracle. spin yer mouse wheel over the text box to illustrate the problem.

    When you use the mouseover links UP and DOWN the scroller window respects certain boundries, but when you use the mouse wheel, you can scroll up too far, and if you scroll to the bottom, it kills.

    Can anyone give me any hints as to how i can get the mouse wheel functions to respect the same boundries?

    it has something to do with the 'moveareaup and 'moveareadown' functions. The initial IF statements that prevent the movement from occuring if a certain boundry has been reached... the onmousewheel function i created somehow works around these.

    The code isnt too badly commented, though it might be horribly written :-P Please please have a look please! I dont wanna let my friend down
