    $('test')

    What kind of expression is this: $('test')?

    var element = form[elementId];

    What is the difference between:

    element.value and $(element).value ?

    Thanks

    I believe $(anything) in JavaScript is referring to the JS library called Prototype.
    I dont use prototype so I might be wrong here.

    Never the less check out the following site:
    painless-javascript-prototype
