Full JS Ticker Script without PHP or Database

My website is database-driven and as such, does not support any server-side scripts, including php. I also don't have access to the root directory, cpanel, etc. There are also no subfolders, or FTP capabilities that I can access.

That being said, I'd like to create a series of ticker scripts in JS that will let visitors customize their own tickers and then generate different types of code to place on forums, emails, bulletin boards, etc.

I'm wondering if this would be possible only in JS given the limitations specified above.

    Thank you.

I can't answer the specifics, but server side scripting is not available for hosted sites because of the way the database is structured.

The host company does use some server side scripting but it cannot be used by the hosted sites.

Now, back to the original question....any answers?

how would you be getting the data into the page?

i am asking what format the ticker info is stored in. if its csv, json, plain text, or available at a url on the server, you can use ajax to load the data and inject it into the ticker.

not sure exactly whats going on in your situation, but php and other server script are not required to create dynamic, updating tickers (though for a lot of coders, they can make it easier).

    you get already two answer.
javascript can't be used cross-domain so you must have the news file on your domain.
if you can, some way, to get the news on your domain the answer is YES else NO.

    regards
