    javascript output

Normally I can use the alert() to display a value, such as var x="This is a test."; alert(x); display: This is a test.

Now I want to do the following:

    1. To output the value of x to a file named test.xml on the c: drive.

    2. To output the value of x to the Console.

    How can I achieve it?

    Thanks

Er.... I don't think javascript will let you do that. That would be kinda... whats the word. Malicious I think, you could spam tons of text files or something. If it's possible I'm in shock. You sure it's javascript you're talking about here?
