    Question Rewriting a script which works in IE6 but not FF

    I would like to lead in by saying that I have very little Javascript experience, but I am trying to fix browser compatability for an html page. Thankfully, the error is small. The script is contained on a frame:

    function window_onload()
    {
    parent.frames.item(0).test('Doc1');
    }

    When processing this script, the Firefox Error console gives me this: "parent.frames.item is not a function." I am ashamed to say that I don't really understand the syntax of the script itself, and I am unable to find a substitute script that would Firefox would recognize.

    I would appreciate if anyone could help me make this work, and do so in fashion that might help me understand so that I can fix a few other, similar scripts. Thanks in advance!

    Code:
    function window_onload()
    {
    parent.frames[0].test('Doc1');
    }
