    Browser resize

I Have a flash movie of set dimensions (say 1100x600). I need the browser viewing area to resize to theose same dimensions when the page opens.

I've tried javascript methods and flash based methods, but when I resize the window the resize includes the toolbars and cuts off the bottom of the flash file.

As toolbars vary a lot in size, due to all of the add ons available, I cannot anticipate how big it will be. So I can't just increase the defined height.

Is there a way to just resize the viewing area? Or maybe detect the height of the toolbar?

I don't want to distort the image, so using css (100% values) to stretch the div isn't really an option.

    Any help would be great.

You can only resize the browser with the browser owners permission. I usually have at least four or five tabs open at a time and if one page wee to resize my browser it would stuff up all the other pages and so I have resizing disabled.

Your best option would be to just display it centred in whatever space the window has available.
