    Different behavior on XP IE 7 and Vista IE 7

    When you click on link; it should open new window onscreen (not minimize mode). It is working correctly in XP IE 7 but not in Vista IE 7. In Vista IE 7, sometime it is opening new window onscreen and sometime in minimize mode. I am using below line of code.

    <a onmousedown="window.open('//help.do','Help','scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=800,height=700')" href="#">Help</a>

    does the same happen if you replace

    Code:
    href="#"
    with

    Code:
    href="javascript:void(null)"
    or

    stop the onmousedown event from bubbling and propagating before calling window.open.

    i've had issues with '#' selector trigger sometimes before onmousedown and sometimes after, which can cause bizarre behavior. the JavaScript:void(null) will ensure that the href doesn't interfere with the JavaScript.

    also, you should never write inline JavaScript events as it doesn't scale and isn't compliant with best practices web standards.

    Lastly, are you using php STUDs on the backend? i'm looking for a community forum for it.

    thanks
