    Ajax enabled browsing

I am working on a project using ajax. I have the current directory and a subdirectory called private. Both have php files as servers.

What I would like to know is - if I use ajax to call index.php file in the current directory and then from index.php I call index-private.php in the private sub directory, where does javascript assume it is looking at? In the main or sub directory?
