jQuery: Submission successful or $.post with callback

    Hello all,

I'm trying to write up a script that allows me to upload a file and when it is complete it pops up an alert.

It would seem the only way to upload is to use an iframe and a form. I can get it to submit with the jquery .submit(). However, how can I tell if it is successful? Is there a way to use $.post otherwise?

As an example, gmail has their upload function that shows progress and when it is done. I don't necessarily need a progress bar but just to know when it is done.

    Thanks!
