    jQuery and AJAX

    uhh. hello, I'm new to jQuery I was wondering where I went wrong.
    What I want to do is, whenever I send a query to my PHP file, the output will use $(#someId).show("slow") to print.

    I tried this :
    on my .php file
    Code:
    $(document).ready(function() {
         $("#someId).show("slow");
    });
    and this :
    on my main file, the .html.
    Code:
    $(function() {
         $("#where_i_ouput_responseText").html(xmlHttp.responseText);
         $("#where_i_output_responseText").show("slow");
    });
    still nothing happens. can someone help me?

    Whenever you send a query? What event is that based on? Are you using Ajax? Where are your AJax calls?

    Generally, you use the callback function of your call to ajax() or post() or get() or load() to kick off events when the Ajax call is complete.
