    Jquery post

    I am newbie to web development. I was trying out JQuery.
    I h ve t he following code:

    $.post('get_results.cgi',
    {username:currUname, sdate:currSdate, edate:currEdate},
    function(data){
    alert(data.length);
    $('[name=results]').html(data);
    });
    I am able to hit the get_results.cgi with the parameter (I log request on the server side) but the whatever is printed in get_results.cgi doesn't get returned. I was expecting that value to be populated in variable "data" and then function(data) to be called.
    But the above alert is never reached. I know it must a simple thing that I am missing but haven't figured it out yet.

    Any idea?

    Thanks a ton!!

    If you haven't yet, install Firebug for Firefox and look on the console there to see what's going on with your ajax call.
