    Galleria Implementation

    What am I doing wrong in implementing Galleria into this page?

    http://www.speedyshare.com/files/21243686/galleria.zip

    I'm trying to get the functionality of galleria as seen at http://devkick.com/lab/galleria/

    Thank you kindly.

    I think you pasted the wrong link. That one goes to a zip file download page.

    Can you put it online for us to look at? If not, can you just post the code up here?

    In the head:
    Code:
     <link href="galleria.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen">
    <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.galleria.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    jQuery(function($) { $('ul.gallery').galleria(); });
    </script>
    And the html:
    Code:
        <ul class="gallery">
        <li><a href="images/portfolio1.jpg" title="A caption"><img src="images/portfolio1thumb.jpg" alt="Imag01"></a></li>
        <li><a href="images/portfolio2.jpg" title="bcaption"><img src="images/portfolio2thumb.jpg" alt="Iage02"></a></li>
        <li><a href="images/portfolio3.jpg" title="cation"><img src="images/portfolio3thumb.jpg" alt="Imae03"></a></li>
        </ul>
    And i'm using the latest jquery.js, and the other files from the site I got galleria from.

    Nothing looks particularly wrong with that, although have you tried

    Code:
    $(document).ready(function() {
    	$('ul.gallery').galleria();
    });
    and does your page validate and are you using Firebug?

    Being able to look at it online would be useful?

    Okay, so I put it online here: http://seematt.com/borg/packaging.html

    I did get around it the same way you did, kencogold, by taking the demo and styling it the way I wanted. Still, I don't know why it wouldn't work with the js and css files linked separately.

    Thanks, folks.

    Firebug reports an error:
    Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@rel=""]

    Yeah i see now , i had a tough time getting it to work, i dont think i used i used the jquery.js that came with galleria , i see i used the minified version and the only reason I can think i did that was that the dev version did not seem to work - if i can remember correctly -- it was a while ago, after a while i bassically copied the demo and modified it a bit -- it was a weird one give the minified version of jq a try.

    I also just noticed your images in the unordered list has links on them to the actual images , i think you should try it with out the links :

    Code:
     Use:
        <li><img src="images/portfolio1.jpg" alt="Imag01" title="A caption" /></li>

        Instead of:
        <li><a href="images/portfolio1.jpg" title="A caption"><img src="images/portfolio1thumb.jpg" alt="Imag01"></a></li>
    On my site this would be a better example of the galleria in action, on this page I also modified the gallery and used a seperate css file:

    A better example:

    If you want help, start a new thread and supply some code. The crystal balls were sold out last week.
