    java load image

I'm trying to learn Java at the moment and am struggling big time!
Anyways, for the application i'm writing I need to load a background image from a jpg file.

I've tried a few options but nothing seems to work. any suggestions?

Okay, first you need to know what kind of component you want to load it on. Frame, panel, or whatever. Then, you can check out the api's of those components for the methods to load images. I would imagine you can use painting as well, but I know some components have methods for loading images already. Hope this helps. If you are confused, just ask more questions. Later.

I'm actually trying to do the same thing that sweenster is trying to do. I never really learned about anything related to images in java. I tried doing what turbowrx suggests to do, but I keep running into a wall.
