Newbie to web services. Help in SOAP.

    Hi All,

I am complete newbie to Web services. I have been advised to chose either .Net or PHP or java to proceed with web services. As i know java, i thought i can proceed with it.

Can anyone pls direct me how to get started with Web Services and SOAP calls. These terms seems to be very new for me. Can anyone help me?

what you can do is use a framework like Axis. It creates a set of java objects based on the wsdl from the webservice. You can use it to construct your call in terms of java objects. serialisation and deserialisation is taken care of by the framework. All you have to do is create objects, get a reference to the url and perform the call, catch the responseobject and analyse it.

    Some documentation:
    http://ws.apache.org/axis2/index.html
I am the luckiest man in the world
