Question Simple project, but where do I start?

I have a very simple tutorial project for a beginners JavaScript course, but I don't even know where to start. All I need to do is create two pages, one with inventory for ten items and the other a shopping cart. The first page should be able to send an item to the shopping cart, with links taking a user between the two. I have been using TomCat with Eclipse, and have read up a little on JSP and PHP pages... but I don't even know where to start!! Should I write some JavaScript into two HTML pages for them to interact, or do I have to do something more elaborate in Eclipse? THANKS!!!

if you are doing a javascript project why do you ask in the java/jsp forum?
