    page icons in css

    Is it possible to have this code:

    <link rel="icon" href="icon.gif" />

    in a css document?

    (I would rather not have to go through and add that to every pages)

    Thanks!

    Rule of thumb

    I am positive it won't work in CSS.
    I recommend you use a server side include for something like that.

    Can you not just place your icon, saved as favicon.ico, in your root dir?

    That would work in most browsers. It won't work in IE though.
