    Unhappy Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I am stuck!

    a program I am using has this in the headers

    <!DOCTYPE html
    PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

    and I use CSS for my bits....but the styles do not work with that code in place but if I remove it it works fine...Got a clue??????

    xhtml does not permit mistakes in html
    thats called a document type declaration.

    if you want to use xhtml, then you should post your code up so that someone can fix it, or you can change your doctype to something a bit more "loose"

    It may help to use a validator to get it right.
    For html/xhtml: http://validator.w3.org/
    For CSS: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator-uri.html
