Question with a possibly simple answer

Excuse my ignorance if this has a really obvious answer :s

How do I get the length of my right column to expand to the full length of the content on the left?

    Here's my example page: www.simonmerrick.co.uk/newsite/sounds.html

on this page you can see how I want it to look: www.simonmerrick.co.uk/newsite/index.html

It works there because the content in the right column is great than the left. But how do I get it to work the other way around? Is it just a case of inserting <br>'s ?

    Faux columns

One technique used quite often is to fake it: this was dubbed "faux columns" by the original author.
In essence, it simulates equal height columns by using an appropriate background image on a container element that hold both columns. The columns themselves only occupy the amount of space needed for their content; the background image provides the visual cue of them continuing down to the very bottom.

Google for "clear floats" to solve the problem.
