    Fonts and CSS

    Hey;

    Is it possible to use a font that the user does not have installed by giving the browser the url of the font?

    ie something like:
    Code:
    .Whatever {
    font-family: "Good Times";
    font-src: url("http://whatever.ca/goodtime.ttf");
    }
    Thanks.

    Nope, at least not yet. The closest thing to this would be to use sifr or something similiar:

    Better yet would be to set the font family to include alternatives and then the font type, this way if the user doesnt have a particular font, a similar effect can be achieved (remember to test). And your not depending on the user having 3rd party products installed.
    e.g
    Code:
    font-family:Arial, Verdana, sans-serif;
    live every day as if it was your first
