    Hello,
I'm a very beginner in the html world and I'm wondering how I can make a background such as the one of this website : www.tv.com

I would like to understand (and be able) to put this color-range on the background of my site.

Thats a background image, not a colour defined in HTML or CSS. For this, naturally you use a graphics program and then simply define the background of the site as using whatever image you create.

The background image on the tv.com site appears to be a "gradient fill". These are simple to make in Paintshop Pro or Photoshop. search the web for tutorials on gradient fill.

That's the background, just with a horizontal repeat -
