    Menu div not showing background on right hand side

    This one has been getting at me like an itch every time I have tried to fix it....being a bit rough on the CSS and all from a year of not doing much with it...

    http://www.dragonhost.net.au/development/ is the page

    if you look to the right hand side of the menu you will see a gap of around 1cm and you can see the background through it...now in my CSS code I had actually placed a background colour of white in there.

    Code:
    background-color: #fff;
    Not sure why this is happening, could someone assist me?

    Gap?

    I may be missing something, but I don't see the gap you mention.
    What background do you mean that's supposed to peek through? I browsed over your style sheet briefly, but both the ul and the div holding the menu are set at 800px wide, so any background set on either of these ought to fill their respective boxes to the wrapper width.

    By the way: what do you think "position: center" should be doing? or "float: center" (inline style on main page)?
    And why bother to float the menu ul where it can be left in the normal flow just fine?

    Edit:
    Nearly forgot: I use IE6.0/Win2000. Yeah, I know; company machine.
    Regards,
    Ronald.
