I haven't seen this addressed before, so on the odd chance someone else runs into it:

The following bit of sample code pretty much works as I expect in IE 6.0 and Netscape 7.0:
Code:
<div>
<form action="" style="width : 300px; height : 200px;">
<fieldset style="width : 300px; height : 200px;">
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(1);">Some Button 1</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(2);">Some Button 2</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(3);">Some Button 3</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(4);">Some Button 4</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(5);">Some Button 5</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(6);">Some Button 6</button>
</fieldset>
</form>
</div>
However, in Netscape 6.2, the buttons don't work. The solution is oddly simple:
Code:
<div>
<form action="" style="width : 300px; height : 200px;">
<fieldset style="width : 300px; height : 200px;">
<p style="height : 200px; overflow : auto;">
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(1);">Some Button 1</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(2);">Some Button 2</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(3);">Some Button 3</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(4);">Some Button 4</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(5);">Some Button 5</button>
<button type="button" style="float : left;" onclick="doSomething(6);">Some Button 6</button>
</p>
</fieldset>
</form>
</div>
