    Question Anyone know what this is?

    Lately, when I've been ftping files up to my site, this line has been appearing in all the html files I've been uploading after I upload them:

    Code:
    <!-- saved from url=(0022)http://internet.e-mail -->
    This may not even be the right place to post this question but I had to pick one! Any ideas where this is coming from?

    What FTP program do you use? What html coding program do you use? Do you use an ftp built into your browser or is it a seperate program?

    Thats likely why they are being saved that way. Try using an external ftp app and see what happens. Filezilla is free and will do the job.

    I have one now thanks. I was just wondering why it would put the line of code in my html files even if I was using my browser?

    That is probably just IE's way of putting files on the server.

    Depends... if it was placing the comment before the Doctype I think it would turn IE into quirks mode?! I'm sure that used to be the case anyhow.

    It is placing it before the doctype. And what is quirks mode?

    Quirks mode is when IE doesn't display html correctly due to incorrect rendering of padding and margins. This happens when the doctype isn't the first thing on the page, if you don't even have a tag that has the word doctype in it then you probably won't notice any change.
