    XHTML 1.0 Strict Validation Problem

    Hi

    I am having an issue with a page on my site where the (XHTML 1.0 Strict) validator is saying I haven't closed my head tag. I think I have. I might be missing something, though. Often, I find, another pair of eyes is just the thing to find the mistake on something you have been working on for a while. If anyone sees what I am doing wrong, please tell me. Thanks!

    Error:
    1 Error: Line 6, column 7: end tag for "head" which is not finished.
    Code:
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en">
     <head>
      <link href="../css/main.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" />
      <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
     </head>
     <body>
    Obviously, I have more code on the page, just not relevant to the HEAD tags

    Never mind, I solved it. I put a semicolon, ";", instead of a quote, """.

    Sorry

    Hi there whizard,

    are you sure that you have solved it?

    I see the reason for validation failure being that you have no...
