    Image Map

    Is there a way that when you move the mouse over the clickable image area on the image of an image map that you can highlight it with a color like red (The border of the clickable area)

    Hi,
    I don't think there's a trivial way to do this...
    Maybe using masking images will solve Your problem... I mean the same image used for the Map. Paint in white all areas except one. Paint a border for the resting part of the map and paint in white inside the border. Then save all this as a GIF with white as trasparent color.
    On the web page - preload the image for the map and all masks. When the user move the mouse over You Map detect over what part of the map mouse is and show the corresponding mask over the real image.
    Too brute, but if the image is not too large may do the job...

    hmmmmm.... (thoughtful hmmm.....)

    well this works with images, not sure about areas on image maps though....

    <style>
    .on {
    border: thin solid red;
    }
    .off {
    border: 0;
    }
    </style>

    <area onmouseover="className='on';" onmouseout="className='off';" class="off">

    i think thats about it. might be completly wrong though, or not work on image maps at all...
