    Only works in ff with no other tabs open at 1280x1204

    I'm making this site that only works at 1280x1204 res in Firefox with no other tabs open.

    I haven't uploaded anything yet becuase the background image is pretty huge.

    Attached are screen shots of the problem.

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
       "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

    <html>

    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    body{
    		background:url(bg.png) bottom left no-repeat black;
    }

    div#back{
    		margin-left:130px;
    		margin-top:26%;
    		width:400px;
    		height:467px;
    		overflow:auto;
    		font-family:tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serf;
    		color:#fff;
    		font-size:12px;
    }

    p{

    ah, could you be more specific? I could sort of see what the issue was in the pic, but I couldn't replicate that here...it loaded fine (FF on OSX, about 900px wide at the time).

    The page loads, but at any other viewport size, the main div gets pushed out of position.

    The only thing I get is tha at larger sizes the main content area gets pushed below the screen and at smaller sizes it moves upward... this is because of the % you're using on the margin...

    At 1280 on my screen the div is pretty much pushed out of the way.

    This design is no good anyways, was just a practice site.

    Hi,

    You should really get the symatics of your page sorted so that all the browsers know what they are meant to do with your mark-up

    The order of the tags should be

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>
    </title>
    </head>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>
    and some others if you decide to use them (like <meta>).

    The page you have shown the source code for, contains data in the head, when it ought to be in the body.
