    scrolling text message

Is there a way to create scrolling text message (a few paragraphs rotating) in a box using HTML/CSS and scripting without Flash/multimedia?

    Thanks.

You can use the <marquee></marquee> tag but I don't reccommend it much as it makes websites look bad IMO.

<marquee> is IE only isn't it? ... think you'll have to resort to JavaScript.

Well a marquee does work in other browsers but not as intended and it will never validate. Some marquees simply won't display correctly in some browsers.

You can also change the direction in which the marquee scrolls. Other browsers have a feature called blink. <blink> </blink> it flashes the text on and off.

Blink, cursor trails, flying care bears

Suuure! And to drive visitors off even faster, make sure the background changes color all the time, the cursor is persistently trailed by flying toasters and that care bears drop down from the top of the page.
    Regards,
    Ronald.
