Weird padding appearing before menu bar in IE

I have a layout that I'm working on but there's a slight problem with the way the menu renders in IE. The link is here:

If you take a look at the top black navigation bar in IE you see that it doesn't go all the way to the left. There's this small white space in front of it and no matter what I do I can't get rid of it. I tried getting rid of the padding and margins but there is always a sliver or some sort of white space in front of the menu. It renders just fine in firefox but it's only in IE where it's giving me problems. Anyone have a clue as to what I can do to fix this?

Here's the way it should look: http://heikou.net/yotamono/test2/layout.jpg

If you look at it in IE you should see something like this: http://heikou.net/yotamono/test2/layout2.jpg

I just need to get rid of that white space that seems to cut into the black menu bar so that the black goes all the way to the left and rests against the border of the light brown, vertical menu. Here's a link to my css file:

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
