    font issue

    Hi guys,

    i have got a font called bitsumishi, i have designed my site with this font
    for page headers etc. the problem is i see the font, but another person viewing the site wont see it the way i want them
    too because they will not have this font on the computer.

    my site

    i have had to use images created in a graphics program just so you can see, as the page above shows.

    all im asking is how do i go about this so i don't have to use images?

    any help would be appreciated

    Thanks,
    Wayne

    AFAIK, the short answer is you can't. Using images is about your only option, but not a very good one for other than headers, or other critical pieces.
    Computer, kill Flanders... Did I hear my name? My ears are burning...
    Good start. Now finish the job.

    Images is the only way to "guarantee" that the viewer sees the font you wish them to.

    One suggestion might be to specify the font you want to use - along with other more common fonts - in the style sheet... then politely recommend (in some fine print somewhere) that if the viewer would like to view the site as intended they can download and install the "bitsumishi" font. Provide a link and installation instructions to obtain and install the font on their systems for convenience sake.

    To declare your font and provide for the systems without it you could use something along these lines for your font-family value:

    Code:
    {
    	font-family: bitsumishi, Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    }
    Those without the bitsumishi font will use one of the others listed.

    All that having been said.... I would imagine that a very low percentage of viewers will take the time and trouble to do so. For that reason I would suggest the images.

    Daf
