    mailto form problem

    I only know some basic html codeing, and i saw somewhere how to make a mailto form. so i tryed to make one. I used my basic html codeing to make a site for my halo 2 clan, and the mailto form i want to make is an page where someone selects and answers all the questions and then it sends me the email and i will read it and see if they are right to join us. So i made the page and it doesnt work. well, here is the page,

    http://thecrookedu.tripod.com/join.html

    could someone please view the sorce and tell me what im doing wrong and how to fix it?

    -thanks

    you should be giving a name to each of the blank inputs and try chaning your action to this
    Code:
    action="mailto:thecrookedu@yahoo.com"
    that way will work however, it will open up the users default mail program and if they dont have a pop email account they will be somewhat unable to join, you may want to look into some php email scripts, a google search for them you may find what u need, this site has some useful ones, these will only work if your host supports php, and i think tripod supports php so give it a shot http://www.hotscripts.com/

    you never really actually change most of the scripts, many of them have an html section within the script that you can edit, but since u are just beginning, you may want to read up on php before you dive into a php script because from seeing your form it appears that you will have to add many new inputs and radio buttons which will be the harder part for you at this time, but a simple email script that has a name section, an email section, and a textarea that allows them to enter comments shouldn't be to hard to edit

    upload the php file in a zip file, i can't tell from just looking at the page because the php gets parsed and its never seen in the source code its only seen in the actual php file but i have already told you that you may be getting ahead of yourself, since you dont really have any knowledge of php but we can help you as much as we can
