    how to make content shift with different resolutions so no scroll bars appear

    Im trying to be less sloppy in my page designs and i would like to know how you get a site to more or less look the same when someone has a 800x600,
    is the right way to do it to use the 800x600 tab in dreamweaver and design everything based on that size , then whenever someone else has a higer resolution they just get more background?
    or is there scripting to adjust sizes of things? let me know your views, thanks!

    It depends on whether your site is fixed-width or fluid. Fixed-width means that the dimensions have been defined with pixels, or a similar measurement, so that the site is the same width in every resoloution. The problem with fixed-width is that if you have a screen with a very high resoloution, the site can look too small. Fluid layouts however, are defined with percentages or ems. Different areas always keep the same proportions to each other, so if the user resizes the browser window, everything changes size.

    i just tried using percentages and the problem was altho i got my layout to fill the whole screen my content flys around whenever i change the window size, can i combined fixed and percentages?
    also i was wondering if this tag
    body {
    margin: 0;
    padding:0;
    border: 0;
    }

    html {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    border:0;
    }

    could be adjusted so the content doesnt leave any boarders on the RIGHT side as well as the left, t
