    Large HTML table and scrolling

    Hi,
    my problem is as follows:

    - I create a large HTML table dynamically, and to make the rendering in the browser faster, I have divided it into several smaller tables, which I position on the page by putting them each inside a separate <div>.

    - I need to be able to scroll the content in the table, while the column headers and the row headers stay in place.

Has anyone any idea about how I can solve this?

Thanks a lot for every advice I get.

Have you tried applying overflow scrolling to the styles for the tbody container?

    You mean like this:

I would think a single table would load faster than multiple mini tables -- but essentially if you are putting them in divs -- you make a header div that is width/height, no scrollbars. Than a containing div that clears underneath it with all the other divs embedded. This containing div would have a defined width and height (percentage, ems or pixels) with scrollbars added via CSS.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

It turned out I could use the same solution I had before, with only a few tiny modifications.
